Interview with Tariel Sokhadze, Chairman, Art Fund, Tbilisi, Georgia

Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia in the current economic situation is developing new understanding of new values for the countries of Europe and Eurasia. A strategic plan in the direction “Georgia a world center of paintings and sculpture” is under development.

Tariel Sokhadze:
We understand your approach. Let me introduce our opinion. Let’s begin with the fact that modern society, and all the countries, all the nations in today’s world did not come into being from scratch.
Let us agree that nothing – in particular a state or a society – can be made out of nothing.
In the historical past (to which all of us owe what we have) two main types of state have formed: those expanding on land (Rome, Byzantium, Russia etc.) and those expanding seaward (England – then Britain, the Netherlands, Spain. The USA etc.).

The latter ones have created the modern society. But this society, with its own aspirations, reproduces the ideas and aspirations of its ancestors – those who founded humankind as a society, who have created culture as a value, education as an opportunity, and family as a value and an opportunity in combination. Yes, empires have fallen, yet a feeling of incompleteness have remained, intertwined with a feeling of inevitability. Societies do not develop in a revolutionary way (which brings devastation and destruction) but in an evolutionary mode. There will be no evolution if a “genetic code” of freedom is not built into society. To obtain such a “code”, a long precious history is needed. Family is the most basic foundation for that. Consider the issue of “young” states. We often hear such a term, but what does it signify – youth as inexperience – or youth as a prospect of future?
I imagine an empire where I used to live, which killed (in the direct sense of the word) many “gladiators” – after first exterminating the elite. Then another elite took shape – the “red intelligentsia”. It grew on the basis of false values. The image of the “enemy” was used to shape these false values.
By such means, the empire prolonged its existence. Then the lie, which had had no future anyway, collapsed.
Societies which have no unhappy imperial experience, always operate in the same conceptual system: “your society needs freedom of expression… Human rights … Etc.”. They are right – but who is to create those values, about which we are all unanimous? An elite which had grown up on the basis of false values, or that “intelligentsia” which is now needed by no one, with its “red” ideology. The answers will be given by the future. Inevitability determines our future.
Leo Tolstoy knew well enough that Anna Karenina did not deserve death, and her life was such that suicide was unneeded. Why then did she perish? Because the author also knew something else perfectly well: if the novel’s beginning contains a sin, then it should end pitifully… and so he led Anna to the railroad, made her put her head on the rails, and sent the train rolling. This is what inevitability is all “The Old Man and the Sea”, but rather in that of Sholokhov’s “ The fate of a man”.
There are grounds for hope. Education is a historical value for us. Our ancestors have created an philosophical academy, adding a second academy in the 10th century. Today, our young generation – even those of them who need social support – are striving for access to educational institutions. We hope we shall succeed in all our undertakings.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
What is Georgia? Rustaveli “Knight in the Panther’s Skin” vs. Anna Karenina. A lost world? What is it losing? At first appearance, – the answer is: passion. Also there is a smooth development of the dance, the waltz. But the lezginka is still the lezginka. This is the wisdom of generations.
… Our opinion:

Tariel Sokhadze:
“The future is never built from scratch, and neither is society.”

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

-The “New World” (the USA and others) has seen the royal nobility balls.

Alexander Green presented it in literary form and combined the two types of countries through the image of the free wind. Assol and Arthur Gray told the world about their passion, then the wave severed them. Assol dream came true. Arthur’s rude and cold father… This stone they will carry through their life. But back to the wave. The wave and the rude cruel world – the story is the personification of this truth. A state on the water and a state on the land – they share this wave.

Tariel Sokhadze:
“…founded humankind as a society”

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

A human being has always been alone, and remains alone. Society is his decline and death.

Tariel Sokhadze:
…” a value and an opportunity in combination”

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Trying to feed oneself, to clothe oneself, , i.e. to change one’s image. But a Georgian toast gives one the opportunity to see a man in the image of the “Knight in the Panther’s Skin”. Culture, education, family – all this it’s a tool organized by the government. Where did the father go to visit before visiting his soldier son? To the vine.

The technical and the social environment : this is the “toast” and the “vine”. But is that really so? Something is missing here. Obtaining the fruit from the vine. Is there the” culture, education, family in this “obtaining”?” Each dance has its own special “caper”. Is that just culture? No, it is a direct connection with the Almighty.

Tariel Sokhadze:
…’ a feeling of incompleteness”

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
А human being is an individual who has nutrition and who gives nutrition to others. One man gave nutrition to a whole country. The country has responded, but nothing happened. The wisdom of the language has found no connection with the philosophy of “let us wait and see”.

Tariel Sokhadze:
…“genetic code” of freedom…

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
..A genetic code of freedom – this has to do with genetics, the quality genome, pathology, the agent conflict, submission. This is the technical system affecting human existence. The “caper”, the toast and the lezginka are on the verge of destruction. The question arises as to whether any countries should remain sanctuaries, reserves, untouched by this? One of the countries in question, even a whole continent is Africa, even continent. . What country can be next to declare itself in this field?

Tariel Sokhadze:
“as a prospect of future”…

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
No, this is a nation’s wisdom and a status of a referee. One global power did not manage to cope with this mighty offspring. Another global power is permeated with technology. A large vested interest of business has accumulated with does not want to make itself accessible to the wisdom of the common man: it cannot compete on the ground of this concept.

Tariel Sokhadze:

… “on the basis of false values”…

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Contact with false values tempers resistance and teaches how to distinguish a barren blossom from a fruitful flower.

Tariel Sokhadze:

… “ suicide was unneeded”…

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
We are approaching the two main formations of social structures – on the water and on land. All other countries – are islands. A wave, be it on land or on water, destroys these islands. Compromise, conversation provides an opportunity to survive for these small islands , to maintain their structure.

Tariel Sokhadze:
…“Leo Tolstoy understood that perfectly”…

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Leo Tolstoy is a good story-teller. A good story-teller is like the caper, the toast or the national dance.
A “caper” can have no conception of sin.

Tariel Sokhadze:
… “The Old Man and the Sea”…

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
The old man lost nothing. The powers were incommensurate. He had to yield since he entered a struggle with the force of nature. Sholokhov – is a great writer. But he is a writer.. And Tolstoy said that he is no writer. (See Nikolay’s web site section: Philosophy (1) “Babaev” (www.synkovhousereapir.com/architecture-and-poetry.html)). This is the difference. Philosophy can find no contact with journalism. Look at Georgia’s epics. Through conversations, you will find the younger generation in any country which will be open to love you, to see you and know you. A wise friend – this is what the youth needs now. Child drawings of your country are resonating in America.

We are open to all your questions and to future development of our work together.

“A World of individuals who use their job positions for satisfying their personal ambitions”
is a topic of our next interview

posted on September 9, 2014

Individuals with weapons feel free themselves in Iraq. Basis for this is presentation of individuals with weapons in the countries of the post-soviet space. How strong are these individuals at the present time noted in his letter of Mayor of Nikolaev Y.I. Granaturov, Nikolaev, Ukraine. These individuals interfere with the political and economic situation in Ukraine. Political directionality of activities of individual Putin not representing in this case institutions of Russia, but using his position for satisfying individual ambitions gave an opportunity to create a situation of instability.

Activities of this type of individuals, their interests to this type of activities require to be legislatively formalized. Analysis by the educational institutions of the country is required.

Fermata Arts Foundation (FAF) will present decisions of the countries’ government in this direction on its pages. Support of educational institutions in the countries in developing a question “society development” through literary works of different writers is also interesting. FAF will also post these reflections. Great contribution to the development of society was made by L. Tolstoy.

An extract from the Fermata Arts Foundation letter with a request for an interview with Ludmila Tsareva, Acting Rector, Maxim Gorky Literature Institute, Moscow, Russia is enclosed below:

Comments from Elena Kriukova, Fermata Arts Foundation Director, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, in the section In the Artist’s Drawing Room” in regards to establishing a World Quality Center for Naval Ships in Ukraine are in a stage of formation.

To develop these comments FAF approached Maxim Gorky Literature Institute, Moscow, Russia. Maxim Gorky Literature Institute is Elena Kriukova’s alma mater. On September 3, 2014 FAF’s representatives had a telephone communication with Ludmila Tsareva, Acting Rector, Maxim Gorky Literature Institute. Ms. L. Tsareva agreed to be interviewed in the week of September 8, 2014. “Events in Iraq” was proposed by the FAF’s representatives as a subject for a discussion.

Why?

Structural directionality for the country of this Institute has been formed by Maxim Gorky ideas (one of them is Gorky novel “The Mother”). Writer E. Kriukova develops concepts of motherhood in her works. Theme “literature and life”, how they are connected is a direction of activity that is explored in the Institute’s lobbies. Boris Tarasov, previous rector of Maxim Gorky Literature Institute, in his interview with the FAF’s representatives in 2011 presented this direction for analysis of the processes that are taking place in the country. However, construction of a new academic building for the Institute and his direct involvement in the construction process interfered with the opportunity to focus his activities on the performance of his direct responsibilities [On June 18, 2014 in House Session Congressman Louis Gohmert discussing Justina Pelletier case in Massachusetts quoted Judge Joseph F. Johnston:“I find that the parties have shown by credible evidence that circumstances have changed since the adjudication on December 20, 2013,…” Congressman Louis Gohmert added: “It is not the circumstances have changed, but the Judge finally did his job” [Congressman Gohmert, Louis “Louie” B. Jr. THE APPROPRIATIONS PROCESS. I THINK WE’RE ALL BETTER WHEN WE HAVE OPEN AMENDMENTS. AND HAVE A CHANCE TO HAVE EVERYBODY HAVE INPUT. IT’S A…http://www.c-span.org/video/?319993-2/us-house-general-speeches accessed on August 16, 2014]. The exploratory tone was defined by B. Tarasov as a direction for any type of communication with the Institute. Supporting this direction FAF introduces the works of the following writers that will be used as a foundation for developing a dialogue through interviews:

  • The Undistorted History of Ukraine-Rus” by Andrey Dikiy,
  • Moscow and Muscovites” by Vladimir Gilyarovsky,
  • “The Pillar and Ground of the Truth” by Pavel Florensky.

If take a mechanical process (mechanical model) to consider a process of evolving of Russia, then validity of the processes that are taking place in Eurasian countries can be seen in multiple directions. From the variety of directions let us focus on the following direction: Rus, formation of Rus. Philosophical structure for the vision of this process is required. The question is “why”? L. Tolstoy and F. Dostoevsky answered this question. Let us focus on the philosophical work “The Pillar and Ground of the Truth” by Pavel Florensky, section “Experience of Orthodox Theodicy”. This is one direction of the process of formation of Russia, from the moment of its establishment to the present time.

However, less attractive direction in the current economic situation with support through purely mechanical actions is also possible. These mechanical actions are the actions of individuals who are using their official positions to satisfy their individual ambitions. Egocrat – who serves the cause, not persons. In 1948, the English writer Orwell wrote the anti-utopia «1984», a novel that was a warning. This is a collective oligarchy, that is given birth by the flow of technical progress and the «manager revolution» engendered by it.

Based on mechanics, the oversimplified understanding of the mechanics is an axle. This axle with different types of gears is ready for participating and organizing a process of movement. For our presentation we will develop a scenario with two axles. One axle symbolizes the understanding of “The Pillar and Ground of the Truth”; the other axle symbolizes the understanding of “Moscow and Muscovites”.

By introducing the abstract understanding -”working process of one axle”, a direction attractive for the current economic conditions with its adaptation by people, willingness/ unwillingness to participate in it is a healthy process taking place in the country.

The other abstract understanding filled with desires of individuals, satisfaction of their ambitions through the use of taxpayers’ money that activate a process of destruction of the countries can be seen through a chain of simple understandings “Rus – the beginning of Rus – Kiev (Kievan Rus’) [Andrey Dikiy] – Moscow – Muscovites [Vladimir Gilyarovsky]”. This is a working regime of the second axle.

These are two revolving axles maintaining the movement through mechanistic connections – gears, or through electrical connections – positive or negative polarity. Positive polarity or negative polarity for any given period of time, loss / change of charges, polarity reversal and steady movement again – this is Moscow, Moscow of Rus, “The Pillar and Ground of the Truth”, a philosophical development of Russia.

The fact is that it is not a theoretical / academic idea, but a section from “Experience of Orthodox Theodicy”. Combining “Experience of Orthodox Theodicy” with the works of A. Dikiy and V. Gilyarovsky is possible within the margin of error.

I.e. it seems the direction in which Russia develops in the existing economic situation.

Chronicles of events with the effect of simple actions (parades, marching) is out of the context with the philosophical development of the emergence of Russia (real situation). “Experience of Orthodox Theodicy” is completely erased. Church bells were thrown the second time.

Moscow and Muscovites and Emergence of Russia (“The Undistorted History of Ukraine-Rus”) took place. The country accepted a scenario from Mikhail Bulgakov’s “The Master and Margarita”, and returned to the Kievan Rus of IX century.

Practical activities are:

“On August 28, 2014 Putin sent Russian troops to the motherland – Kievan Rus’ (author of the book Andrey Dikiy). However, since those times, Ukraine became an independent country, and it does not need foreign troops on its territory. The individual who destroyed all principles of democracy in his country now pretends to expand his approach to other countries.

Regular mocking of democratic processes in the countries that left a melancholic regime of the soviet empire through intervention and educational processes going in Ukraine in the current economy are incompatible.” (from SCHWIPAR Centre for Innovational Development Letter to Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Olexander Motsyk, Letter No. SCID-082914-014 dated August 29, 2014 requesting his support for establishing World Quality Center for Naval Ships in Ukraine).

Sending troops is the action of the individual who uses his position to satisfy his personal ambitions.

Let us introduce into consideration a short interval – evolving a young country Russia. This century. Beginning of this century. Change of paradigms, formation of the economy as “long slow growth and a maturity of the market and strategic stagnation” (Ohmae, 1982 ). Current economy presented competitive processes as a need. What is the economic situation in Russia?

Developing a concept of marching (sudden sending troops) and considering it as a process that is taking place in the social systems, one emphasizes on the product that is produced by all people on the planet. Let us take a silent film “Earth”, by Ukrainian director Alexander Dovzhenko, produced in 1930. The earth brings forth this product. This product is an activity of a human being. Wheat head gives life to everyone. Processes that are described in this epic film, were they a source for the processes that are taking place right now in Iraq in the fighting for bread? Is Iraq an initiator of the processes in Israel (Gaza Strip)? Is Iraq an initiator of the processes of the events that are taking place in Ukraine? Or maybe these processes are the outcome from the processes of satisfying the ambitions by the individuals? Then legislative power, the State Duma, Federation Council structures have their own opinion for bringing legal actions against these people.

On September 8, 2014 communication with Ms. L. Tsareva will take place. After this brief communication, the interview questions will be forwarded to Ms. L. Tsareva.

The United States can only offer a discussion through cultural structures.

(From Fermata Arts Foundation Letter No. FAF- 090714-010 dated September 7, 2014 to Ludmila Tsareva, Acting Rector, Maxim Gorky Literature Institute, Moscow, Russia)

In the telephone conversation on September 9, 2014 after FAF’s correspondent Tatyana Ishutkina introduced herself, Ms. L. Tsareva provided the following comment to the letter she received from FAF:

“Вы меня просили интервью про Ирак. А говорите про Украину. Мы учебное заведение и политикой не занимаемся.”

[English translation: “You asked an interview about Iraq, but are talking about Ukraine. We are an educational institution and do not deal with politics.”]

To interpret these comments in the content of the FAF letter, amplified by the fact that the answer received was from a representative of the educational institution of the country at the level of rector, the following question can be active for further development of comments, interview, discussion, etc.:

an individual is communicating with the society, forming his style through a system of “intuitive understanding”(weapons, only weapons, are needed in the society, making decisions for society through weapon) and how civilization re-applies to the Stone Age instrumentation that this individual is taking out of the storage of his intuitive thinking formed on his heritage structures. (Intuitive thinking: “Because it often includes unconscious material, intuitive thinking appears to proceed by leaps and bounds”http://www.sofia.edu/about/history/transpersonal-pioneers-carl-jung/ accessed on September 9, 2014). Acceptance or rejection of this individual by the society. These questions were developed in L. Tolstoy works.

Literature supports and provides understanding that a formation process of an individual, as an example, had place and has started in Russia. Iraq, events in Iraq is only a reflection to these processes and understanding of permissiveness and unpunishability is also taken in these literary works. Interpretation of religious canons, what is right and what is not, provides an opportunity to these individuals to act with weapon. In these moments they see themselves as the deity. After killing people they appeal to the source of their religion, and find defense. These processes can take years, decades. Mayor of Nikolaev Y.I. Granaturov is making a statement, where is “defense” from the individual who lives and acts based on religious canons. Writers will describe this process through their works. However, Mayor of Nikolaev and his specific numerous staff are ready at the present time to develop shipbuilding industry institutions for formation of world fleet needs.

On September 20-30, 2014 FAF”s representatives will go to Nikolaev, Ukraine with a working visit.

Interview with George Tchankotadze, sculptor from Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia

posted on September 6, 2014

An interview – sent as a letter to the directors of Fermata Arts Foundation: “In the drawing room of George Tchankotadze”.

Reporting starts here:
Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
How much does an artist’s trip to America cost from countries of post-Soviet space? This is a question for the artist. A minor addendum. A country of the post-Soviet space covered all of the costs of cultural workers from its budget. An agent receiving this representative knew all the items of expenditure and made the payments himself.

George Tchankotadze:
I believe that the consent of the Ministry of Culture to finance the travel expenses – whether it be preliminary or final – may, in one way or another, be neutralized/annulled.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Have you sent a letter to the American Embassy in Tbilisi (a letter to you was sent on August 29, 2014)? Clarification is needed here on what is the particular letter in question. This has to be a letter from the institutions of Georgia to the American embassy in Georgia with a request to finance a portion of the expenditure on the events that will take place in Georgia. Transparency of the trip is needed (what will you do, where will you go, where the money is coming from) – this needs to be described, that is one of the requirements for which the USA is open. Sometimes the traveler writes a diary detailing the events of each day. Subsequently, he may publish it. That is his business, and his income from this trip. Financing by the American Embassy in Georgia: it finances only events taking place in Georgia. Basically, in this specific case, it is the educational process of a U.S. representative in his work on the creation of the budget allocating the necessary funds for achieving the trip’s goal. Do you agree with that?

George Tchankotadze:
Yes.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
If we consider the cost of a round trip ticket, the cost of a month’s stay in America is greater for a representative of the country by a factor of “n”. There are books for those who would like to visit America. They describe, in a concise, clear and understandable way, the items of expenditure, foreseen and unforeseeable, which must in any case be borne in mind.

George Tchankotadze:
I dont know.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Every person entering the United States fills a customs declaration that includes a question on money. Cash up to $10,000 that you bring into the country does not require explanation. Everything in excess of $10,000 – an explanation is required. This letter provides an explanation for the money that you may have in excess of $10,000.

George Tchankotadze:
Yes.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
This report – this is your diary, and this is also your source of revenue. As for knowing the the cost of living situation in the country to which an artist is sent – this is the responsibility of representatives of financial organizations in the country which is organizing the trip at a detailed level. Did you have a conversation in the Ministry of Culture concerning the format of these items of expenditure and their amounts? An American embassy describes in detail, on its web site, all expenditure items for a tourist visiting a country.

George Tchankotadze:

George Tchankotadze:
Expenditures up to $10,000 and above, where will they go?

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Theory are just for you: your meetings, communication, presentation, movement, food, transportation, medicine, police, etc.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Question. How is the second side of this letter seen by you in terms of specific work on the sculptures?

George Tchankotadze:
I have created new works. Two years ago I created a sculpture of Merab Berdzenishvili. I have prepared a slide show of my work consisting of two main periods, the period of realism, and another period in which I am working now, it’s a combination of metal, stone and light. I use internal illumination of my sculptures, specific adhesives for connections of parts.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
New works mean new buyers. We proceed to the cost of these works.

George Tchankotadze:
For my work different materials are used: metal, stone and polyester, and in some cases lighting.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Do you see making pictures of your work (of a high quality) – as a business for a photographer? Is a photographer’s business connected with the purpose of your work?

George Tchankotadze:
No

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Are you going to America, in art, to present the work of a photographer? And through the exhibition, to sell them?

George Tchankotadze:
I will present my work. As we have agreed, there will be presentation of photo-versions of my works.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Your work and Kandinsky. Kandinsky as a representative of the legal profession. Kandinsky as a representative of the artistic circles of Germany, and of England. The museum and Kandinsky – these are related concepts.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
The museum was built at the expense of Kandinsky. The museum was built at the expense of Kandinsky’s fans/presenters.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Kandinsky’s books engendered many directions in art (the concepts, the necessity).

George Tchankotadze:
Yes.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
In the system dynamics community there is now discussion of the following aspects: the crowd, the open system, the dynamics for a model of harmony. Your short remarks on the effects of the “crowd.” It is open or closed, is there a harmony in it or not.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
The cost of the Merab Berdzenishvili’s work – the architectural monument. The initial price of $400,000, a million, and above.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Your works, tentatively. The costs are an order of magnitude less. But the connection of the form with the content increases the price to $100,000 – $200,000.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
The canvas, its cost increases over the years.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
A sculpture is sold just once. Examples – a series of leaders. They are either destroyed or preserved.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
But your sculptures have a difference. Your understanding.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

Their difference is the possibility of fairly cheap transportation, and weak binding to a specific site.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

The effect of a large sculpture needs to be used.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

Pre-sale of all of your work.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
And then the effect of “sale from the collection.”

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
You have the right to sign or not to sign the letter.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
The adopted direction is a new direction for our work.
a) another artist
b) canvasses
c) you come to America and reproduce the work of Merab Berdzenishvili as an ornamental component in the structure of urban architecture.
In the Ministry of Culture, they are probably familiar with this practice. The practice of returning the money, if it exists in your country, is an effect of inexperience on the part of an artist, a sculptor, an employee of the Ministry of Culture.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Harvard. Your presentation.

George Tchankotadze:
This will be a very important meeting, where I shall show my work, and the opinion of the public will be of interest.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
There is a practice in the universities of Boston (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), A university brings together a collection of artwork from which the student chooses a work to keep in his dorm room for a period of a semester or two.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Adding your work to collection of the University. Contract variants: with payment or without payment.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

Subsequently, these become historical figures. The student’s name. (Your blog)

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Communication while the work is with the student. Your diary.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Another option – a short sale.
a) the price effect
b) vandalism
In Russia, businessmen sometimes buy works of art for a symbolic price in order to shoot at the characters in the work (Moscow and Moscow region).

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

Kandinsky – an artist of another age and also a lawyer. This is history. Fan circles in Europe.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
You are a representative of Georgia. Georgia is a representative of the empire. Merab Berdzenishvili is only becoming history as yet. Your autobiography begins with the classics, with Shota Rustaveli.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Dealer classes have not been formed in America. And if they exist, to a large extent they are of a criminogenic nature. But this is a story for a movie and, later, for sculpture sale. There is a new theme, “dealers in America and dealers of the fallen empire.” Dealers of the collapsed empire live yet in the minds of the representatives of these countries. This stereotype is characterized by a quick payment, without a possibility to subsist on this money, and the work being placed in the reserves of the museums (“the Stone Wall”, Moscow). Dealers of the USA – has the Ministry of Culture introduced the new forms of their activities in its estimates? But this is a new topic….

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
The Art Consul in Columbus, the state capital of Ohio has announced a competition for the shooting of a film.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
Should Fermata send materials referring to your work to the Ohio Art Consul?

George Tchankotadze:
Yes.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
What is the basis to be used in sending the materials that will be presented: the sculpture works or the photos?

George Tchankotadze:
Photos.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
The Certificate of Registration of the gallery – this is a matter of your financial independence. What do you think?

George Tchankotadze:
I dont know.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

You have a gallery – you can be invested in. You have no galleries – can one invest in you?

George Tchankotadze:
When you have a gallery…

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
An interpreter from Georgian into English is needed. No intermediate language can be used. Has the Ministry of Culture has come up with a candidacy? One that has been certified, has a driver’s license, etc.

George Tchankotadze:
No.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

Does the Ministry of Culture want to participate in an exhibition in the USA?

George Tchankotadze:
I dont know.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

Is the Ministry of Culture aware that the more exhibitions it organizes in America, the deeper and wider the inter-cultural relations will be?

George Tchankotadze:
I dont know.

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:

Application by the Ministry of Culture: the country of Georgia, presentation of the Georgian culture in America.

George Tchankotadze:

Fermata Arts Foundation correspondent:
