“The students of Bentonville Public Library’s Homeschool Group enjoyed the recent Fermata Arts Exhibit from the young students. We spent several class sessions studying the Ukraine and our students had several questions that they would like to ask the young patrons of Kharkiv Regional Library. We videotaped the the students and their questions and you can access this video

As we discussed, there may be a language barrier and it is our hope that you will be able to help in the translations. We hope that your young students will be able to do a video blog in return and we will work at translating on our end.

… the work is fabulous! I only wish we could keep it longer. A wonderful way to communicate across the invisible borders that serve to divide us if we allow it. So very many of our patrons have commented and spent time studying the pieces… I must reiterate “stopping to study, reflect and comment on the work”… which is unusual. Often people breeze by art work, not this time. It is refreshing to see and your budding artists and their instructors would be pleased with the reaction to their artwork.
With heartfelt thanks to all involved – instructors, students, administrators, etc… in making this exhibit possible,

The 95th separate air-mobile brigade of the Airborne Forces of Ukraine gave the children of Slavyansk (Donetsk region) 250 pictures created by little artists from 11 countries. This is reported by the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, reports IA “Vchasno”.
The servicemen handed to the children gifts from their peers from the United States, Italy, China, Latvia, Georgia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Nagorny Karabakh and Bulgaria. Thus the “winged infantry” joined the international project «Let’s Build a Roof over The World» approved by the UNESCO World organization.
The children’s gifts have been placed in the Central Library of Slavyansk. The exhibition of the paintings will start on March 22.

Date: March 18, 2016
Re: A second vision: country Ukraine – Kievan Rus
Withdrawal of Putin’s forces from Syria gives an opportunity to Poroshenko to transfer their military operations against Putin to Syria
Dear Ms. Menard:
From the experience of American communications with the countries of the post-soviet space (cf. John Reed and the USSR) one can notice that US institutions are able to initiate the process and to wind it down in the span of sometimes one day, or, at most, of one month.
Your wish to communicate directly with libraries / schools / students in Ukraine is within your rights, as much protected by the constitution as your right to vote.
And yet in the period from 2011 – when the first drawings from the countries of post-Soviet space were provided to you by FAF – to the present time you have not exercised that right in any practical form – which would have meant posting the information about the exhibitions on the web site of your library – so that every participating child could enter the web site and see it.
But such links are rapidly destroyed.
Therefore, a non-profit organization that has a web site demonstrating the effects of traveling exhibitions provides an opportunity, based on the statistical data stored in the operational process of the “child – library, library – child” communication, minute by minute, regardless of the participant’s situation or mood.
Example: the Winchester Elementary School has refused to accept the exhibition. But other schools have supported the process of making a school exhibition.
A traveling exhibition of children’s drawings is an initial stage in the creation of the Investment and Cultural Club (ICC) – see letter of support from Senator K. Witkos an Senator J. Lieberman
The library in Windsor, CT made a re-application which was not in the spirit of our understanding – “we only serve the citizens”.
The right of American citizens for expressing their views is not served by a forceful process of “do as I do”, but a process of cultural development of each individual with an access to an inter-cultural dialogue.
The network of American libraries is a network of independent libraries of the USA. ICC formation can only start from independent participants, individuals not depend on the mood of their neighbor.
Presidential structures of the USA embody a history of independent individuals acting within the framework of the constitution that has enabled these individuals to express their concepts both at the individual and societal level. America cannot survive without a president. Examples of countries trying to express themselves without presidential structures are Russia and the countries of the post-Soviet space. The loss of these countries’ culture at the time of the collapse occurred simultaneously with the process of losing the ruler of the country.
This comment will be placed on the Fermata Arts Foundation (FAF) website for Ukraine as the epigraph for children’s drawings in the development of ICC and apropos correction processes in the development of tolerance.
Contact with the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine will be made in one form or another (wrt the formation of the laws in Ukraine).
The address for a direct contact that you have requested:
Elena Stepanovna Filanchuk
Director
City Children’s Library
36 Otto Brozovsky St.
Krivoy Rog, Ukraine
E-mail: knopka-aknela@mail.ru
The language for communication: Ukrainian in Ukraine,
Georgian in Georgia, Armenian in Armenia, etc.
Good luck.
Libraries are not a reliable structure; the ICC, an abandoned building and an architectural student project – this is a form that will be more responsible for the task ahead, as there is a process of addressing the government: the lawmaking process is involved and an introduction to the country’s constitution.
The FAF website is an international web site, and each child (in the countries of the post-Soviet space) can go and see his or her drawing. They have neither the money nor the capacity to do so at present.
Putin has managed to break up Ukraine into 459 independent urban centers.
Your direct contact would support such policies of President Putin.
You are using your right to vote (according to the constitution of the USA) in that country to form the concept of a touching love for the USA, not backed up by the finances of the country. Developing a computer dialogue via Skype, is an attempt to form a nobility class in the country. Constitutionally, the concept of “love for America” is in no way reflected in the constitution of this country, which leads to what has happened today.
Such Skype is a patronizing fiction. It’s like visiting a prisoner in jail when you know that at any time you can get up and leave.
